ok im having nightmares about my dad killing my mom nd they are still together i am 14 years old…what is causing this???

ok, I have a 3 year old, she’s nearly 4. Nearly every night, she will have a dream about a monster man and try to come into my bed. I calm her down and help her get back to sleep, and only every on the rare occasion I’ll let her sleep with me. I’m careful because i don’t want her to get used to sleeping with me.
I talk her threw it and explain it was just a dream, and the monster man dose not exist.
She’s a really happy kid, with no worries. Yes I’m separated, but that was a while ago. Her dad is not in the picture, but i cant see how that would cause the dreams. We separated a year ago.
I guess I’m just looking for a little advice. This has been happening for about a month, so i really just want to help her know that everything is ok.
