School Fundraising

Most schools have fundraising programs regularly. The fundraising programs are of course for good cause, such as for school facility improvement, charity, or for some other extra curricular programs and activities. But, not less importantly is that these kinds of programs are great fun for the students. They will learn much from fundraising, especially in the area that to get something (in this case money) they need to work for it. Some younger students will learn something about basic principles of trading. And the experiences … those are the most interesting parts.

Based on my experiences, since the market are students, the best selling fundraiser are of course what they usually love the most. Although parents are also the target markets, most of them just come to help and accompany their children. Besides lollipop fundraisers, food fundraisers such as cookie dough, pretzels, brownies, and cheese cakes are also great. Not surprisingly, since most kids love cookies, one of the most profitable ones is the frozen cookie dough fundraising. These cookies are easy to be made anyway, so it is really a great idea.

Other great ideas for fundraisers are of course the students’ creativity, from painting, crafts, or any other stuff. But, this type of fundraiser is usually for parents. Other students will not be tempted to buy any other students’ creativity, since they cannot eat or use the stuff for anything.

Well, as long as it is for good cause, and the kids enjoy it, we parents must support this school fundraising.
