Thursday 13 - 13 Questions that Got Me Stunned

Olivia seems to develop her logic a lot better these days. She’s been asking me questions that could make me both smile and get shocked.

Here is the list:

  • “Mom, why do you love Dad?”
  • “Does God exist? Why can’t I see Him?”
  • “How did God create me?”
  • “Why am I different from Jerome?”
  • “Why can’t frogs walk? They always jump, aren’t they tired, Mom?”
  • “Is Barney animal or human?”
  • “Who do you love more, me or Jerome or Daddy?”
  • “Mom, can I be a man when I grow up?”
  • “Why can’t Daddy get pregnant? Because he’s a man? Why can’t men get pregnant?”
  • “When can I get married?”
  • “Why is Grandma very old? Will you be like Grandma when I grow up? Getting old?”
  • “What’s wrong with you, Mom?”
  • “Why can’t you make delicious cookies like Grandma does, Mom?”

Each question has a funny story behind it.

Do your kids ask such ‘questions’?

    Ah…kids and their questions!

I am sure mine will have plenty this summer as we visit the 13 places I would like to see in our home town.

  3. Adventures In Babywearing Says:

Oh yes- mine ask (especially my 4 year old!) Gosh- I never know when or WHERE he’ll ask the next crazy question!!

  4. Dragonheart Says:

Those are great questions! :) It sounds like she is really curious! My humans don’t have any children, so there are no little ones to ask questions. I’m laughing at Olivia’s last question - I guess there’s nothing quite like Grandma’s cookies! :)

  5. Robin Says:

Your daughter must be about six. My son turned six two months ago and I am getting bombarded with questions like that! I love watching how their minds work and learn though.

  6. Naeva Says:

    Hi All,

    Thanks for stopping by.

Yes, ashe’s about to be six…soon.

    :)

  7. Toni Says:

I recently read somewhere that the average 4 yo asks 400 questions a day. While the Hubs said ‘WOW”, My reply was, ‘ Is that all?’

    Great list!

  8. Lulu Says:

Oh, enjoy these days while you can. When they become teenagers they stop asking the questions and think that they know it all!

Thanks for sharing! And thanks for visiting…

  9. Alasandra Says:

Kids say the darnedest things don’t they.
    Thanks for visiting my TT.

  10. Gabriella Hewitt Says:

This list made me laugh. They do say such funny things that crack you up. Childhood is such a magical time. It passes much too quickly and we forget sometimes to really cherish the moments. Thanks for the reminder to do so.And thank you for stopping by my blog.

  11. Overwhelmed! Says:

Not yet, but I’m sure the questions will be coming soon. My son is 2 years old and he’s talking up a storm these days! :)

  12. Michelle Hasker Says:

My favorite question was from my second oldest and it was about 3 years ago, but she was soo upset about something and to this day I still dont know whether to laugh or cry.

“Who am I supposed to marry since you already daddy?”

ok actually she prefaced that with “I hate you” but we can ignore that LOL

  13. Randa @ FreeStuff4Kids Says:

Hilarious. Can’t wait until my son is old enough to ask such funny things. (maybe I should be careful what I wish for…)

  14. Denise Patrick Says:

Bill Cosby had it right - “Kids Say the Darnedest Things!” I remember when my kids were young and they wanted to know the most amazing things, too. Good luck to you in answering her questions.

Thanks for dropping by my TT.

  15. Thomma Lyn Says:

Hee hee! So cute. :) I especially liked the question about why frogs don’t walk, and how it’s gotta make them tired to jump around all the time! LOL! Very logical. :)

Happy TT, and thanks for visiting my blog!

Out of the mouths of babes…

I can see why you’d be stumped. These are some pretty thought provoking questions.

  17. Heather Says:

Oh yes. The hardest for me has been, “Mommy, what is a soul?”

  18. Nicole Says:

I don’t have any children so I don’t have any cute questions to add, but I just love this list! Kids ask the funniest/cutest things sometimes.

I love the question about the frogs. It amazes me how kids see and think about things that adults never even consider.

    Happy TT!

I have a 4 year old and I tell ya what…I never know what’s coming out of her mouth or better yet, WHEN. Do you ever cringe sometimes when they speak loudly in public and you don’t know what they’re going to say!?

Thanks so much for dropping by my TT!
