Roots and Wings
When I first read the phrase above, I took a moment to think. And, my mind went to my parents.
They did it right.
They taught me how to be aware of who I was and how to let me be free–yet responsible.
Dad always told me stories about Grandpa and Grandma, and my great grandparents. Where they came from and everything they went through to get us all this happy. Mom did the same, too.
Without having to see my great grandparents, I feel the love inside me for them.
Dad never tried to stop me from doing anything I thought right, from going anywhere I felt like to.
And, those are the thinks that make me who I am today. And, I’m grateful.
