Your Kids Have Insomnia? Why?

Here are some factors that might be the reasons why kids are having problems with sleeping:

  • Restless Leg Syndrome. It’s a disorder of the part of the nervous system that affects movements of the legs.
  • Sleep Apnea. It’s a sleep disorder characterized by pauses in breathing during sleep.
  • Over excited. Knowing that the next day he is going to school might excite him too much and that prevents him from sleeping well.
  • Sleeping is not fun. Kids might have this thought because parents push them to sleep instead of asking them to sleep.
  • Bed-wetting or Enuresis. It’s usually beyond a child’s control.

So, what you, parents can do to help:

  • Establish a regular routine and set consistent schedule.
  • Let them sleep with their favorite teddy bear, toy or blanket to make them comfortable.
  • Avoid drinking large amounts of fluid just before bedtime.
  • Be understanding.
  • Check out with the expert if the problem persists.
