Hermione Granger and Girls Being More Violent
Well, that never occurred to my mind before, that the perfect smart girl like Hermione might contribute the increase in violence among girls.
However, Professor James Garbarino thinks the contrary. He said that girls who traditionally had been taught to suppress their violent tendencies now are getting mixed messages about their behaviour for watching super girl characters like Hermione, Buffy and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
He also mentioned that rates for girls arrested for attacks were rising.
Professor Garbarino is a renowned psychologist who wrote books on violence and trauma on child development. His two famous books are Lost Boys: Why Our Sons Turn Violent and How We Can Save Them and See Jane Hit: Why Girls Are Growing More Violent and What Can Be Done about It.
