I just had a baby shower about a few weeks ago and it was a blast. We did a co-ed party since we are also moving out of the country in 6 weeks. We played like 5 games, and had little appetizers to eat, like mini barb-q smoked sausages, crakers and cheese, and mini pb&j’s.

Some of the games we played were:
    1. Give each person playing a number of baby closepins(we did 4 each) and anytime the person would cross their legs, another person could steal their pins. The person with the most pins at the end wins.
    2. Get about 3 different chocolate candy bars and melt them into a diaper. Then have each person guess what they are by either tasting or smelling them.
    3. Put some tootsie rolls in a diaper (not melted) and have them feel it and guess how many there are. We had to ducktape it shut so people couldn’t cheat.
4.Get 3-5 different things on baby food and little spoons and have each person taste them and guess what they are.
    5. Last, but def the best game played was where everyone gets a paper bag and the “host” tell them to put it on their head. Once it’s on their head you tell everyone to “take off an article that you do not need”. You keep doing this with a straight face until someone finally take off the bag. My MIL was taking shirts and socks and everything. It took about 7 times of rephrasing it til my brother finally won. It was so hard to keep a straight face.

As for prizes, we went to Target in the dollar aisle and grabbed like 2-3 small things. At the time they had the holiday lotions and soaps. Thats what we got, and also some notebook pads, magnets, and other small things. I think we spent about 5 dollars per each gift, and had 6 of them to give out. Make sure if it is co-ed to get at least 1-2 guy gifts extra jsut in case. We forgot, but the goood thing was they were winning it for their g/f and wives. Good Luck and have fun!

the ones i’ve been to consisted of games such as:

Guess Mom’s Tummy Size: (Materials- String or yarn and scissors) Have each woman pull the yarn to the size they believe would fit perfectly around the Mother-To-Be’s center of her pregnant tummy. After everyone cuts their string, compare the results to the Mommy-To-Be’s actual tummy. Give a prize to the woman who is the most close! This is a baby shower favorite.

Bottle Races: (Materials- Baby bottles with Milk or alternate drink). Have each participant take a bottle filled with a liquid and suck the bottle as a baby would. The woman who drinks the most in an alloted time wins the baby shower gift.

Guess how many candies are in the bottle: Fill a baby bottle with the little baby bottle candies and have each guest guess how many. The winner gets the candy!

Guess the baby pictures: Ask for everyone’s pictures prior to the baby shower. Have all the pictures in a collage and make lines for people to fill in who they think the babies are out of the girls at the baby shower.

Pass the Dirty Diaper: (Materials- diaper, chocolate, music player). One of our “dirtiest” baby shower games is for the host to take a diaper that has been “fixed” with warm chocolate in the right place and have the woman pass it to the woman next to them (make sure everyone is in a circle). When the host stops the music, whomever is holding the diaper is out of the game.

and of course you should have party favors.

    good luck!

It all depends on how much money you are wanting to spend…Baby showers should be fun and enjoyable for everyone of course! You will need some tables, food, a cake if you want, and games…I’ve been to several baby showers…Try some disposable table clothes and a few simple centerpieces on the tables…These could range from flowers, to candles, to even something more casual…I think little dump trucks filled with mints would be super cute for a boy…Add some confetti or what you wish to the table, and maybe some favors…try getting the pastel tulle circles and filling them with candy for a simple and inexpensive idea…or maybe even do some homemade chocolate suckers (you can even get the molds for baby showers)…For food, do simple and easy finger foods and maybe a couple hot dishes…meatballs, cheese ball, meat/cheese tray and croissants, fruit tray, veggie tray, chips and dip, different types of salads (potato, macaroni, etc.), and punch are all always popular and easy…For the decorations, balloons and streamers (of course this is depending on how formal or casual the event will be) are great and easy to clean up…and for the games, easy and fun games are always the best…here’s a couple ideas…when the guests arrive, have a baby bottle filled with candies at the door…have them guess how many candies are in the baby bottle…you could do a baby word scramble (you can find these online)…or maybe type the baby’s name on the top of a piece of paper (or just “baby shower” if you don’t know the sex) and have the guests form as many words as possible…there are all kinds of game options online..and don’t forget to have a door prize also (this is usually the biggest prize)….A very fun game for the guests is baby bingo…hand out bingo slips (can make these with a word processing program) and have the guests fill in the blanks of what they think the mommy will be getting as gifts…as the mommy opens gifts, if that item is on their bingo slip, they will put a ticket on that space (just like regular bingo) and the people who get bingo get a prize…In my opinion, this is one of the better games, because the guests get bored watching the mommy open gifts after a while, and this keeps it entertaining…This is always my fav game! These are just some basic ideas…hope this helps and good luck!
