Baby Clothes?????????
Baby clothes are so expensive. I’m a single mom who works full time and trying to make ends meet, and all the while I have to get new work clothes and my one year old needs new clothes. He’s grown out of everything I had for him. I went to a thrift store, and habitat for humanity, but can’t seem to find anything in his size.
I’ve looked everywhere for good consignment stores too and can’t find any. Where else can I look?

yard sales in the summer. You can find some nice clothes for good deals. Also dollar stores and big lots carry childrens clothes for only a dollar or two.

I’m a yard sale freak. I also get hand-me-downs from everyone I know. You can check craigslist.com for people in your area. They have lots and lots of things listed on there for babies. Another idea is e-bay. Good luck!

if you know someone that had a baby….. and they are getting rid of his clothes… then see if they will pass them down to you… try to get on ebay… you can sometimes find clothes in there in lots…. and some of them are pretty nice… wouldnt see why ebay would be a problem… if your looking in the thrift store… or get some of your family members to ask around and see if they know anyone or friends even… that have a son who is older than yours and they can pass down his clothes to your son…… ive had many people to give me handy downs for my son… and now my 10month old is wearing them… if he couldnt fit them…. i would send them to you free.. because i know how hard it is…. good luck…

I suggest trying eBay. You can buy a huge lot of gently used clothes for really cheap!

Try eBay. I have lucked out on some awesome deals. You can usually get a a bunch of items for 1 price. For example I got a huge lot of 40 pieces (all name brands - Levis, Gap etc etc) for $22.00 including the freight. The lady who i got it from threw in about 3 extra pairs of jeans just because she wanted to get rid of the stuff. This wasn’t the first time I made a good score. Just keep an eye out, when bidding always go a size or 2 larger because as you know they grow so fast!!
Hope this helps!!

Khols often has excellent sales on baby clothing. Ross also offers baby outfits at reasonable prices.

Freecycle.org, your local group may be giving thigns away that will be useful.
Are you thrift stores similar to charity shops in the UK? In that they are run off donations? You have to look in those almost every day for they get new stock in all the time.
Are there any mom/baby groups around, perhaps you could get someone to take him there and explain you situation..I know in my mom and baby groups, moms are always bringing in things that aren’t needed anymore for others to take.
Put an advert in your local paper too if you can, in the ‘wanted’ section.
You’d be amazed at how many things people are willing to give away or sell for a cheap price.

I have found a great place called “Once upon a Child” Look them up and see if you have any in your neighborhood. I have been very successful in finding Great Clothes for my 10 month old son…. I am picky and won’t buy anything “old” or “worn” but this place seems to be right on the spot for me. I’ve given up buying everything new at the prices these crazy retailers are asking!!!
Once Upon a Child is a consignment type set up, and you may have to stop in every so often finding some things every other time you go, but it can prove to be well worth it…
Last weekend, I got 2 pair of levi’s, a pair of gap jeans and a pair of American Eagle jeans….Very Good Condition….for $20.00.
They will also buy your childs clothing….depending on condition, type of clothing etc., so this is a way to make a few bucks too!
You can also try eBay….
I also tend to be able to find nice clothes at reasonable prices on sale at Babies R Us and the Carters Outlet stores…. In fact, in my personal experience, these places are less expensive on the average than the WalMarts and Targets and have a much better selection of Baby Clothes.
Good Luck!

I too swear by eBay - from the home page click on clothing on the left hand side of the screen. Then pick baby clothes from the list. From there you can narrow the search by the size of your baby. You can purchase and entire lot for around $20!

why dont you go to ross or dds they have baby clothes sometimes at $2.00-$5.00 or ask your friends if they know any one around that has a kid about your childs size and ask if they can donate their clothes to you.post an anouncment on the websites

Believe it or now, used is not always your best bet. Children’s place, Target, and Walmart have new things for almost free sometimes, when they are having a good clearance. In fact, walmart and target are cheap all the time, clearance or not.

Try craigslist and. The Freecycle groups in my area ALWAYS have baby clothes for free. You can also try Goodwill, they usually have a lot of good condition clothes for really cheap. Yard sales are great too, and once it starts warming up some more, lots of people will be doing spring cleaing and getting rid of stuff!
Ebay is also good, but I don’t always like not being able to see them before I pay for them. Also, I’ve found some stuff on sale super-cheap at Target, but you have to be patient and keep checking to see what they have. In between seasons is probably the best time to get things on sale.
