Baby clothes??????????????????????????????

so this question is for moms of dads. I am expecting a little girl in June. I kind of went crazy and bought about 20 outfits in the 0-3 month size.and most of them say they will fit between 7-12 pounds. I am starting to wonder if that is going to be way too many. I am not sure how fast she will grow out of them. Should I take some back? Do I have about the right amount? Hw long does it usually take an infant to go into the 3-6 month clothing. P.S- I will not be having a shower so reciveing any clothes will not be quarnteed.

Personally you can never have to many clothes for baby girls, some babys take longer to grow out of there clothes, but just keep buying cute little girlly outfits for her. And when she has out grown most of them have a garge sale when she is around 1 because you will then have tons and tons of clothes that someone else would appricate just as much. So personally a baby can never have to many clothes even if they out grow them

Most of the time at that stage they are in onesies…I would keep like maybe half that then return the rest and get stuff in the 3-6 month group!

If you have a 7-8 pund baby(which is avg) then they are def not gonna wear 0-3 too long….I am due in June as well and am trying to get more of the bigger sizes but i also had a shower already where i got a lot of assortments!

    Good luck!

It all depends on how big she is when she’s born. My daughter was over 9 lbs. at birth and very quickly went from 0-3 months into the 3-6 month size!

It really just depends on the size of the baby. My little one was just over 7 lbs (he is 11 days old) and he is swimming in the 0-3 months..he has to wear newborn right now. They do grow fast but also go through alot of clothes in the beginning. I have about 25 sleepers and I know I will use all of them.

I had a lot of cute outfits in the 0-3 stage and my son wore that size for about 4 weeks…so many things were never worn. I found he ended up wearing onesies and stretchy pants or pajamas most of the time. The outfits are usually not real practical for a newborn and mine only ended up wearing them when people were coming over to see him.

That sounds good to me. My MIL went crazy and bought us tons of outfits and we definitely went through a ton, especially in the beginning… when you are getting the hang of everything you will change outfits 3x or more a day so, you will definitely use them. Get ready to wash clothes more than you ever have in your entire life. lol! I never knew! If you can afford it, go ahead and byu some 3-6 months clothes just to be prepared. That way you won’t have to run out all of a sudden and buy more clothes at one point.

You should buy whatever you want. My son is 4 months old and he now wears any where from 6-12 months clothes

That’s a lot but if you got them for bargain prices, keep them. Babies can through 2 outfits per day plus an outfit at night. They usually spit up or mess their diaper in at least one outfit! As for the newborn size, I think Noah stayed in it for about 2 months. Now, he’s 14 months and wears 12-18 month clothing.

I know that before I had my daughter I was totally stressing that I didn’t have enough clothes. But I ended up doing ok. I did have quite a few onesies, which is a good idea especially when she had diaper blow outs. Plus I always had some in her dipaer bag along with some other outfits because I just never knew what was gonna happen when we were out.
But I had quite a few outfits for her. I liked dressing her up everyday in something new. She is only 9 weeks now and wearing some of the 3-6 stuff I got. The only thing that fits her of the 0-3 is anything with out feet. She is quite long so the outfits that feet don’t fit. But her onesies and pants and stuff fit still.
I do know that the fit also depends on the brand. Some brands run alot wider than others. But width is not my problem, its length. But for the most part she is not totally in the 3-6 category for clothes.
Babies do grow fast, I know that now more than ever, but if it weren’t for my daughters length she would be ok in some of her outfits.
So what I did was, get a little bit of everything before she was born. Even 9-12 month stuff. So I had stuff for her already when her 0-3 startred to become to short. So now when I see clothes that are cute, I get 3-6 but I have quite a bit, so I am going a little bigger. I like to plan ahead. Like when the some of the summer stuff went on clearance I got it in 6-12 so she could have it for when it gets hotter. And I even have gone as far as to buy some stuff for next winter. Things get marked down really cheap and I just bought bigger sizes to what she would be. So winter stuff I got 6-12 or larger. But mostly stuck to jackets and onesies, things without feet, just incase she gets even taller.
But having enough clothes, well depends on you. I like to have going out outfits and stay at home outfits. So I buy quite a bit. And I can’t pass up a good deal. So if its cheap get it, that’s what I say. I mean I love carters stuff, but its a bit out of my budget at full price, so when I see 40% off or more I buy stuff. I mean something at regular price was $25 and I got it in the clearance for $5, couldn’t pass it up. So instead of buying at full price stick to sale or clearance stuff, that way it keeps you from over buying in one size and plan ahead. Winter stuff won’t get marked down till Jan or Feb, when a lot of the cold months are over so buy bigger to what your baby will be. Its cheaper and leaves more money for outfits that you really, really got to have.
