If you’ll notice, there are plenty of babies who sleep on their stomachs, there’s no way of stopping it unless you sit at their crib side all night and it doesn’t harm them at all :)

not intil they roll there by themselves. Never lay a baby to sleep on their stomach but if they do it themselves there is not much you can do as you cannot go in every 5 min to roll them back. Make sure the only thing in the cot are the blankets(made up at the bottom of the bed) and the baby. No pillows, quilts, padded edges. NOTHING! this is what is recommended my SIDS

12 months is when the risk of SIDS isn’t there. Most of the babies that die of SIDS died between the ages of 6-12 months. With that said once your baby learns to roll from back to front it gets harder to keep them off their belly. The Dr told me she doesn’t worry as much about babies that can roll front to back and back to front as long as the crib is a safe sleeping area (no toys or pillows to suffocate on and crib sheet is nice and tight). Most people feel comfortable at 6 months which is why the SIDS risks actually seem to go up.

When your baby can flip over onto their stomach on their own, they can be left to sleep that way.

It is always best to put your child to sleep on their back for the first year. There does come a point when you baby learns to roll over and cannot be kept on their back no matter how hard you try. When this point comes, still put them on their back to sleep, but there is no need to move them if they roll over on their own.

My son learned to roll onto his stomach at 12 weeks old. There was nothing we could do to prevent it, he just wouldn’t stay on his back. He’s been sleeping in any position that suits him ever since.

when they flip that way themselves. my son started at about 4 1/2 months flipping himself onto his tummy to sleep. i tried everything to stop it, i used on of those sleep positioners and he just rolled right over or squirmed right out. i couldn’t sit next to his crib all night and continue to roll him back everytime he rolled over (although there were a few nights when i did). If the baby does it on their own, its fine to let them sleep on their belly!
