How much baby food should my 5 month old eat?

baby food

gatattoogal asked:

My son was introduced to rice cereal at 2 weeks old because he has acid reflux. He has the type of reflux that comes up and is inhaled back into his lungs so we had to thickin his formula to help reduce his reflux. He was started on stage1 baby foods at 4 months and he eats perfect from a spoon. He has started on stage2 baby foods with no problems at all. He eats a 4oz jar at lunch time and a 4oz jar at dinner time. The rest of the time he gets a 4 to 5oz bottle with a thickiner mixed in. We can not increase his formula intake because it produces to much reflux which ends up in his lungs and makes him choke. I wanted to know if I could add a jar of baby food with a little cereal for breakfast. In between his breakfast bottle and lunch he acts like he starving. He has no problem with eating from a spoon so I am assumming he is ready for these foods. The baby food also has to be mixed with a special thickiner, when eating the baby food his reflux is reduced a lot. He seems happier too.

Question about baby books?

baby books

ஐ♥Gin♥ஐ asked:

Okay, I have 3 daughters. Ages 15, 11 and 6. Our first 2 children have baby books we made when they were babies, but our youngest, we kind of got lazy and didn’t make one. Just the stress of raising 3 kids and making sure everyone was safe and sound was on our mind and I didn’t think about a baby book. She’s seen the other 2 childrens books and asked to see hers. I kind of changed the subject. Now I feel horrible. Should I buy one and kind of “remember” things and add it to a book for her or should I be honest and just tell her we didn’t make one for her? I don’t want her to feel left out or unloved, which is sooo far from the truth. I love that little girl more than anything. I wish I could go back in time, but I can’t. What do you suggest?

Anyone have good baby shower ideas for menu and prizes?

baby shower ideas

inept_user asked:

I’m throwing a baby shower for a friend. I have all the games planned, I’ve sent out the invitations, bought the favors, etc…

Right now I’m just looking for menu ideas and door prize ideas. I have a moderate budget ($150-200) so I’d like to have some decent prizes for the games. Not the typical dollar store candles and picture frames… any ideas?

I was also thinking about maybe for the menu some finger sandwiches and fruit salad type things. It will be after lunch but before dinner, so nothing too heavy… any ideas for that?
I wanted to clarify, what I mean by prizes are the prizes for the games. I already have the party favors that my sister-in-law is donating (little teddy bears with the date & baby’s name-to-be). I wanted just a few nicer prizes for the people who win the games… priced maybe around $10-15 each, or so. The aromatherapy idea is good, but the mom to be is allergic to many of those types of products, so I don’t want her to have a bad reaction if anyone opens or uses their prize at the shower. I may still consider maybe a nice soap or something like that for one of the prizes…
I should also add that there will only be about 8-10 people at the party, so I’m allowing a little more for the prizes. I may be kidding myself about the budget, but I’m only doing the food, decor, and games(and prizes for the games). Someone else is doing the favors.

baby gift

KissesnKuddles asked:

Hi all…
well my sister is having a baby in July, and i am making her a beautiful hamper of gifts. In it though, I want to make her a cd of all these really nice songs that relate to how much she’ll love her baby boy, like “Little Wonders” by Rob Thomas is about a life changing moment so that would be one. Any other ideas? Also Celine Dion’s song “Miracle”, those kind of really corny one’s! lol ne ideas??
