Swimwear for Summer Vacation

Monday, May 12th, 2008

swimwear.jpgWhat do you think the perfect family vacation during summer is? Beaches, of course. Lots and lots of beaches and sun. Since summer holiday is usually quite long, we can probably go to several beaches and waterparks. Wet and fun is our family summer holiday motto, since we need fun but also need water to cool off our body during the heat of summer.

If we are going to lots of water places, we then need to look for swimwear. Moms will usually get the task of looking for swimwear for everybody, which is for men, women, and kids. Nowadays, if we don’t have enough time, we don’t need to go to different stores. We only need to connect to the internet and find online stores that provide women bathing suits, men bathing suits, and certainly bathing suits for kids.

For us who have considerably large figures, we can actually look online for swimwear collection that is suitable for us without feeling ashamed. Unlike shopping for swimwear in department stores where we have to communicate with those skinny store assistants, by going online we can feel free in choosing the right models and sizes. One great collection for big sizes is Christine swimwear that comes in size 16W to 34W.

Have a nice summer vacation with great swimwear!

The Best Family Accommodation in Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas 1.jpg

For family vacation trips, especially during winter holiday, then this Cabo San Lucas in Mexico is a great choice. Cabo San Lucas, also known as just Cabo, is the one major destination in Baja California Sur, Mexico, especially during long winter season. Cabo has one of the most beautiful pristine beaches; a perfect distraction from our winter.

From January to March a must see is the whales, they come to Cabo in this period of time and many little boats can take you to watch them for a little price. It is amazing the way these great mammals swim, go out of the water to take a deep breath and then dive again letting their impressive tail make an impressive view and a great experience.

For the whole family, the perfect accommodation alternative is Cabo San Lucas vacation rental. We can choose whatever vacation rental we want to rent, from the location, size of rental, view, and prices. The best location, which also means the higher cost, is of course the seafront. The size of the rental will depend on the number of your group. The price for renting can be considered cheaper than normal hotels with the same property size and view, since we are renting directly to the rental owners.

As vacation rental, Cabo San Lucas accommodations offer a variety type of property, from apartment, condos, homes, to villas. The prices will depend on the types, location, view, size, and level of luxury. The best accommodation is the Cabo San Lucas villas, where we can have the property for ourselves, stay at such luxurious place and with the beach and sea just outside the property so that the children can play in the beach as they like.

Disney on Ice

After looking everywhere to get Disney on Ice tickets since the tickets were sold out in most ticket stores, finally I got them, although they were of a bit higher class than what we planned. But, well, for the girls, I would be willing to pay for them. Anyway, it’s not that Disney on Ice comes to our city every year.

Al last, last week, on 1 May 2008, we went to see Disney on Ice at Kemayoran. At first glance of the stage, it looked a bit disappointing. The stage looked quite small, compared to the previous shows such as Barney’s show and Holiday on Ice. And the decor was not quite impressive. But, as long as the girls were happy, who were we to complain?

The theme was Mickey & Minnie’s Amazing Journey. This show included 5 well known Disney’s movies and their characters, like The Lion King, 101 Dalmatians, Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, and Lilo & Stitch. My girls, of course, loved Little Mermaid show the most, with their beloved character Ariel looked so pretty. And it turned out that the show itself was quite impressive, with lots of bright colors, great characters and their costumes, and surprising stage accessories to make the shows look like the movies. Some examples were Captain Hook’s ship, Lilo’s bedroom, and Peter Pan’s flying acts. The most disappointing show was the Lion King one. But anyway, since the girls were very happy, so I should also be happy then.

Our Progress in Planning Our Next Trips to Australia

surfers paradise.jpg

For now we are deciding to visit three cities, Melbourne first, Sydney second, and Gold Coast the last. We are still to decide whether for domestic trips we are going for flights or coaches. The problem with coaches is that we are worried that the children will get really bored. And in coaches, if we get bored, there is nothing we can do to change that. As for the accommodation, we are still looking for any good discounted hotels in the area we prefer.

In Melbourne, we are looking for Melbourne accommodation that best suit us. Our preference of location is around the CBD, St Kilda area, near Yarra River, or the shopping and entertainment precincts of Southbank.

As for Sydney, according to our experiences, accommodation in Sydney Darling Harbour area is the perfect location. It’s got everything, from entertainment, tourist attraction, Sydney Aquarium, to shopping malls. If we want to go to the city, we just need to hop on the monorail.

The greatest place in Gold Coast is of course Surfers Paradise. It has the most impressive beaches and sand, along with so many places for eating and shopping. Since Surfers Paradise is the main tourist destination in Gold Coast, there are any kinds of hotels we want, from the most expensive to the budget hotels. While here, visiting Movie World or Sea World is a must. Really great!

Anyway, there are still so many planning to do.

Zoo Picnic

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

Last Saturday there was a family gathering, held by my older girl’s school. The theme was “Zoo Fun Walk”, started early in the morning with morning exercise together, then proceed with the fun walk around the zoo, and ended with picnic in the zoo. It was quite fun, especially since we’ve never had a picnic in the zoo before.

Picnic – Low Cost Family Vacation

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

picnic basket.jpgFamily vacation is very important that needs to be done at least once a month. It is the time to get together and doing something together after hectic days. And getting together is like a privilege, something that is very rare nowadays, what with the parents busy in their works and the children busy in their school and other after school activities.

Actually family vacation doesn’t need to be going to far away places and spending lots of money. Family picnics can be also considered family vacation, with the whole family going to some nice places such as parks or beaches, spreading the sheets or blankets, opening the picnic baskets, and enjoying just being together.

Picnics can be done as often as we can manage with low cost needed. We probably just need to buy the picnic equipment the first time. Some great stuff for picnic includes picnic time picnic basket, picnic chairs, picnic blankets, coolers, and the accessories. When the picnics have managed to be regular habits, then we can sometimes do some camping and upgrade the equipment with grills, camping tables, and so on.

Enjoy getting together with the family.
