A Pray for a Struggling Premature Baby

Friday, June 23rd, 2006

Nine months. Or between 38-42 weeks. That’s a normal pregnancy should be.

But when babies delivered before they are at least 37 weeks old, these newborns are considered premature.

What are the risk factors that may increase your chances of having a premature baby? Here are some of them:
1. You once had a premature baby
2. You’re pregnant with twins or higher number multiples
3. You’re having diabetes.

I’m sure, no woman wants to face this, including Alicia Youngji Delgado’s mom.

Alicia was born at 24 weeks gestation on April 8, 2006. She weighed 1 pound, 4 ounces, and was 12 inches long.

When I read this, I couldn’t help dropping the tears…

Yes, I do. I do pray for Alicia. Hope she’s getting better and better everyday.

So much love for the three of you.

Single Moms Update

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

I’m just curious about what single moms wrote in their last posts.

And today, I found two blogs.

Here I go now.. just want to share things with you.

First, I found Diary of a Single Mom on the Edge. On June 21, Janeen wrote about “a survey” on latest parenting trend. Maybe you happen to have the same thing ;).

And the next is SurvivingSingleMom who felt hurt since her son didn’t miss her.

Enjoy the reading!

The Best Way to Finally Trust Your Child in the Hands of Your Dear Husband Is…

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

written somewhere here…

Are you one of the wives who barely ever trust your little one in the hands of your hubby? Come on, admit it. That’s ok.

There are plenty–or should I say ‘all’?–who prefer to get busy doing like five things at the same time they’re taking care of the baby instead of letting their lovely hubby look after him or her.

Women (read: wife) just can’t trust men (read: husband) enough because of their own attitude. They forget to change diapers, they forget to feed, they forget to bring the favorite doll. They’d forget everything, if not being reminded.

Should women just live with that and not even try to change them?

Well, I suggest that you do.

Mom 101 has a great solution on that one.

She said, “Maybe we just need to give the guys a chance to fail before they can succeed.”

Isn’t that such a great idea?

So, now, you have two persons to give chances to fail to, your baby (in their learning process), and your hubby (in being a more reliable person under the roof).

Good luck!

Not Breastfeeding Leads to Guilt?

Wednesday, June 21st, 2006

When you’re expecting a baby, what plans do you have already in your mind?

I bet breastfeeding is in the top of the list. At least one of the tops.

WHO also recommends that exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months is an optimal way of feeding infants.

But, what if some women CAN’T breastfeed their babies? Is there guilt in their heart? Or in other words, formula use leads to guilt?

Martha did feel this way. She even started her post with “Here comes another guilt trip”.

Meanwhile, Jordan’s mom decided to give up breastfeeding for the better interest of her child.

What Diana had written may hopefully soothe women who are unable to breastfeed.

Mama Drama also expressed the same point of view.

What about you?

Should A SuperMom Worry?

Wednesday, June 21st, 2006

Most of the pregnant ladies who talked about the laboring process with me showed a certain worry of what might happen.

All I could say was “It might hurt a bit but you’ll forget it by the time you see your precious newborn.”

Yet, they didn’t buy it.

All moms are supermoms. So, no worries about it. Just count on me on that one.

This lady is one of the supermoms that you should look up to.

Why Homeschooling?

Tuesday, June 20th, 2006

Why not?

A blogging mama had found her own reason here.

But, are there any other reasons?

Yes, there are…

  • You can make a great connection with your little ones
  • Children often learn better in a more comfortable and flexible setting
  • You can tailor the curriculum that fits to your kids
  • You are more aware of their talents and interests

But how?

It’s easy…you can get some essential tips in our e-mail guides on homeschooling.
