Blog of the Week

Friday, July 21st, 2006

Last week, I picked Another Mommy Moment as Blog of the Week after I read her confession :).

And this week is for Ellen’s place, The Broken Road.

Why? Because today is her birthday! And her Happy New Year post is really a deep thought of a mother.

Last month I commented on the post about her feeling as a step mom here.

And what a coincidence and a big surprise that I found out it’s her birthday today.

Happy birthday, Ellen! May all your wishes come true…

Sport is Great for Your Kids

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

Yes, sport is truly great for children.

Not only it is healthy for mind and body, but it also enhances children’s skill. Well, some people consider it as a recreation.

The point is doing sport is an excellent self-motivation activity, especially for children.

And this cute boy, Jason, has put a Karate class in his agenda. He even made his big brother motivated again. Good boys!

Thanks for sharing this beautiful picture, Super Mom.

Having Fight with Your Teens So Often? Find Its Way Out!

Thursday, July 20th, 2006

Oh, please, dear, don’t wear those clothes!
Geez… you shouldn’t eat those fast food so often.
Honey, I think that guy isn’t a good person to be your friend..

Have said those things to your teens lately? Or you always tell them what to do and not to do?

Well, that’s really normal for every parent. But for your teens, this could be their nightmare! Instead of making things better, your teens would be spoiling the “rules”.

It’s not easy to have teens. At this age period, they are looking for their identity and creating values and thoughts of their own. It’s certainly normal. Indeed, what they do is a preliminary step to jump into adulthood.

What you, parents, can do in this kind of situation are …

  • let them know that you keep telling the same ‘annoying’ advice because you love them so much and that you don’t want them to get hurt
  • sometimes, just let them choose what they want and always remind them that they have to be responsible for what they do
  • make friendly communications with them more often and ask what they’re thinking about this teen period
  • take them out once in a while; maybe you can have a lunch together at their favorite places or enjoy a box office movie together, just the two of you!

So, good luck with your teens!

And this very nice “young lady” reminds me of my son. Nice photo, daddysgirls!

Whenever someone in the house is holding a broom, he’ll aprroach her and grab the broom for him! Oh God… But that’s really funny!

Thanks for sharing the cute pic, daddysgirls…
