Thinking about Autism …

Friday, January 26th, 2007

Here’s what I took from CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention)

About Autism
“Autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) are a group of developmental disabilities defined by significant impairments in social interaction and communication and the presence of unusual behaviors and interests. Many people with ASDs also have unusual ways of learning, paying attention, or reacting to different sensations. The thinking and learning abilities of people with ASDs can vary – from gifted to severely challenged. ASD begins before the age of 3 and lasts throughout a person’s life. It occurs in all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups and is four times more likely to occur in boys than girls.”

As a mother, sadly, I can say nothing about autism. I don’t know what I would think if my child is diagnosed to have autism.

Maybe I could be or feel like The Woman with One Red Shoe?

or… like This Mom?

All I could say is, for moms and dads who have children with autism, I’m so proud of you. I’m so proud that you all are able to struggle with this situation, with all of your great endeavor and patience…

and LOVE ….

Happy Birthday … Happy Birthday !!!

Friday, January 19th, 2007

Are there people in your family celebrating their birthdays this week? How do you celebrate the special day? Hope you all enjoy it..

Now I’d like to share these people’s birthdays too… Well, it’s about wives writing about their hubbies’ birthdays, and one man who’s writing about his wife’s.

The first is Raggedy’s dearest hubby who’s having his 53rd birthday last Wednesday. Don’t miss the sweet poem she wrote in her blog… :)

The next one is J, Chelle’s husband, who celebrated his 30th birthday yesterday. Chelle is now 27 weeks pregnant and also a mom of a cute toddler girl, Becca :) . What a perfect world for them! Curious about what these two ladies give to their man? Cutieee…

And the last one, which you must not overlook, is a nice post written by a man to his loving wife on her 35th birthday. Guess what she got already from him? :D

Happy birthday to you all, guys… And have a wonderful birthday week!

Breastfeeding … The Things That You May Not Believe

Friday, January 12th, 2007

I’m sure a lot of you have had many sweet or funny stories about breastfeeding.

What I have found to day will absolutely make you smile… or even laugh! Curious already?

The first is the story of LissyJo, a nurse, who shared her job meme in her blog. Check it out! And don’t miss no. 13. ;)

Oh… and I am absolutely certain that you will laugh out loud when you see this hilarious breastfeeding photo! Thanks for the link, Mama Knows Breast :) .

Sweet Things in the Beginning of 2007

Happy New Year to all of you, moms and dads!

I’m sorry it’s a bit late, but I hope it’s not too late for me to share with you what I have found today.

It is something that might (or should) remind you about your feeling to your beloved children, one of the best gifts from the Almighty.

The first one is Ladybug Mommy Maria. She wrote in her blog about her Thoughts and Plans for 2007, which is mostly about being a better person for her children and loving family. I am absolutely sure that all of you who read this post also have the same thought, right? Go read her post :)

And you should not miss this sweet one written by Pumpkin who shared a story about her sweet little devil, and how she was dealing with a situation when she felt so desperate in handling her children. Yet, it has a sweet ending.

What about you? I hope you also have some sweet things to share with your friends and families, something special about your children, your family, about yourself…

Happy New Year to everyone! Hope you have a better, beautiful life with your family this year and after …
