This Week’s Thursday Thirteens You Need to Check out

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Jerry seemed to be able to read my mind. Her TT list is the kind of reminder I need. I’ve been so clumsy lately in the kitchen.

Well, thank you, Jerry. A very useful list you shared.

And, should you need ideas on summer activities for your kids, this is the place to go to.

For you who have doubts on whether to adopt a pet or not (I’m not talking about you, Naeva), you need to read this list.

What about you? What’s on your list?

Keep Your Baby Away from the TV

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

At Bonton.com, researchers said, “Such early exposure to screens can have a negative impact on an infant’s rapidly developing brain and put children at a higher risk for attention problems, diminished reading comprehension, and obesity.”

Based on the study, Baby E’s parents decided to keep him away from the television for a while.

What about you?

Baby Born on Delta Flight

“Two doctors on a Delta Air Lines flight from Germany delivered a baby in the aisle of the plane and resuscitated him when he wasn’t breathing, officials said.”

Your Baby’s Head Shape

Monday, May 28th, 2007

For some reasons like being born from a small maternal pelvis, moulding, or the use of ventouse or forceps during delivery, your baby’s head might be a little bit asymmetrical.
Here are some sofest positions for babies to sleep to help correct the lop-sided head shape:

  • Change sleeping direction.
  • Alternate the directions regularly, i.e. every week.
  • Hold your baby, it helps relieve pressure on the head.
  • Place your baby on his or her tummy but make sure you’re there to accompany.

Have a nice try…

Roots and Wings

Saturday, May 26th, 2007

When I first read the phrase above, I took a moment to think. And, my mind went to my parents.

They did it right.

They taught me how to be aware of who I was and how to let me be free–yet responsible.

Dad always told me stories about Grandpa and Grandma, and my great grandparents. Where they came from and everything they went through to get us all this happy. Mom did the same, too.

Without having to see my great grandparents, I feel the love inside me for them.

Dad never tried to stop me from doing anything I thought right, from going anywhere I felt like to.

And, those are the thinks that make me who I am today. And, I’m grateful.
