Protect Yourself and Your Loved Ones

Friday, January 25th, 2008

Do we really need to know self-defense, to be able to protect ourselves and our loved ones? Aren’t we too paranoid if we think that it is a dangerous world out there nowadays? Well, I think so. But, when we don’t have any martial arts background, is it possible to master it in a short time with good results; that is that will we really be able to defense ourselves and our loved ones without harming ourselves in return? Here is something to consider!

Now there is this site called Close Combat Training by Captain Chris Pizzo. This Chris Pizzo is the World Leader in Self Defense. He claims, and after you read it I’m sure you’ll be convinced too just as I am, that what he teaches is the real self defense. It is neither just cultural fighting art nor combative sport, which are only most useful in the arena of competition. Real self defense defines any system that you can rely on 100% when you’re in a deserted, dark parking lot and some thug wants your money, your wife, or your life - Real self defense must work regardless of the size, strength, technique, or mindset of your attacker. It is really the truth about martial arts. Try the free test drive!
So many people has trained with this Captain Chris’ Close Combat, from fathers and mothers to be able to protect their family, even to some martial art trainers and marines. And these people believe, while any other martial arts are useful, this self defense is much more useful when you really need to defense yourselves.

A Good Home for Your Family

mortgages.gifWhen you already have a family of your own, sooner or later you’ll need your own home.  A home is where your family will have a good life together.  A home is where you’ll find a sanctuary after hectic days.  And a home is where your kids will have friends and, especially, where they will grow up.  Thus, you need to be careful in looking for a good property.

First, to give your kids good environment and friends to grow up with, you’ll need to find a good neighbourhood.  Second, try to find a property that are not too far from good schools and your workplace.  Third, you need to find property that you can afford.  You’ll need a mortgage, most probably. But find out first how big a mortgage you can borrow or whether the first deposit is affordable.

Finding out about this mortgages business is not quite as complicated as it seems. Go online is much more practical.  For example, if you are in UK, just search UK mortgage in the internet.  Find some reputable mortgage services, and just ask for several mortgage quotes from several mortgage products and several companies.  Give them your financial conditions to determine the possible schemes, types, rates, terms, and any other things.  Then from several mortgage deals, decide on which one that suits your condition.

A home is a  very important aspect for a family.  But remember, do not sacrifice your kids welfare and education just for the sake of buying a house.  Being a good family together is already a home in itself.

Interesting Meals on a Budget

Friday, January 25th, 2008

Below are two interesting family recipes that I gather from searching the internet. It’s called meals on a budget, because it doesn’t cost much to to make.

Taquitos (from Raven)

  • Tortillas
  • Cheese
  • Any type of meat
  • Eggs

Grill in skillet and make like a pizza (very thin) then roll up and serve with whatever or nothing at all. We like leftover chili or spaghetti sauce or salsa on them.

Each person can have 3 for about 10 cents each.

Skillet Noodle Dish (from Joan)

  • 1/2lb of ground meat
  • 1/2 cup uncooked spaghetti, broken into 2″ pieces
  • 1/2 cup dry rice
  • 1 can of mushrooms
  • 2 cups of beef broth (I use water with bouillon)

Cook meat, and then add everything else. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and cook 15 minutes until rice and pasta are done. Serve with Worcestershire sauce or sour cream on top.

Serves 4 for under $2.00

Reading to Your Child

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008

Reading to your child lays the foundation for later independent reading. But before your child can read independently, he or she needs a set of skills called emergent literacy skills. These include:

  • having a large vocabulary of words and knowing how to use them
  • understanding that words are made up of smaller sounds (this is called phonemic awareness)
  • understanding that marks on a page represent letters and words
  • knowing the letters of the alphabet

You don’t need games, flashcards, or special instruction to help your child gain these skills. You just need books, your child, and you. Reading to your child as often as possible is the best thing you can do to help him or her learn to read independently.

How to Overcome Less-than-Perfect Credit Case

Monday, January 21st, 2008

Bad credit case is something that we don’t expect to happen to us. But sometimes, one way or another, it does happen to us or other people closed to us. When we have a family, then when something like that happens to us, we need to seriously find a way to overcome it. Do not wait until this situation affect our children’s welfare and education.

Now, there are services that provide the knowledge and resources necessary to help find the best credit offer to fit the needs, regardless of a bad credit history.  And we might want to take  a look at these services online, since, while avoiding embarrased feeling, we can browse around and compare from one service to another to find the reputable one with good services.  Moreover, normally application online will provide faster services without so much paperwork.

One example is this site called Badcreditoffers.com.  This site provides several types of bad credit offers, such Credit Card Offers, Home Loans, Auto Loans, Personal Loans, Credit Report & Score, and Credit Repair. For illustration, if we have huge pile of bills to pay or we need to pay for education very soon, Personal loan providers can give you an instant cash loan up tp $15,000, regardless of an imperfect credit history – often within hours of receiving your application.  Or if we really want to repair our bad credit and rebuild the better finances, we can check out this Credit Repair.  This credit repair is said to reduce our total balance up t0 40%-60%.

Of course it doesn’t mean that we can spend money carelessly and build ourselves a less-than-perfect credit rating.  But in case something like this happens to us, we will know what to do.
