There Is Something Wrong with My Car!

Saturday, August 23rd, 2008

I actually feel that there is something wrong with my car. I went to some auto workshop, and it seems that auto parts nowadays are very costly. The people at the workshop said that actually we can buy the auto parts somewhere else, bring those parts to the workshop, and then ask them to replace the old broken ones with the ones we buy.

Now, I’m looking for high quality but low price auto parts. People suggest me to find it online. They said that those buy auto parts sites offer better prices, warranty, and free shipping. It does sound good to me.

What Do We Know of Budget?

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

A carpenter uses a set of house plans to build a house. If he didn’t, the bathroom might get overlooked altogether. Rocket Scientists would never begin construction on a new booster rocket without a detailed set of design specifications. Yet most of us go blindly out into the world without an inkling of an idea about finances and without any plan at all. Not very smart of us, is it?

A money plan is called a budget and it is crucial to get us to our desired financial goals. Without a plan we will drift without direction and end up marooned on a distant financial reef. Sit down and figure out what your joint financial goals are…long term and short term. Then plan your route to get to those goals.

A budget should never be a financial starvation diet. That won’t work for the long haul. Make reasonable allocations for food, clothing, shelter, utilities and insurance and set aside a reasonable amount for entertainment and the occasional luxury item. Savings should always come first before any spending. Even a small amount saved will help you reach your long term and short term financial goals. You can find many budget forms and budget software on the internet. Both of you will need to be happy with the final result and feel like it’s something you can stick to.

If we are talking about family vacation, surely the first name that comes to our mind will be Orlando of Florida. Well, there is no such a place anywhere else that has so much to offer for the whole family. Just name it; we can find anything, from amusement parks like Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld Orlando, to major super shopping malls and Science Center.

Now, since we will be staying there for some time, the best accommodations are vacation rentals. Why? Firstly, we are renting directly from the rental owners, so these vacation rentals can save lots of cost since the prices are lower than the branded commercial hotels. Secondly, we can choose more spacious rentals without any additional charges; this way is perfect if we are going with quite large numbers of family members.

There are basically very wide choices for Florida vacation rentals, from around the Panhandle area, Orlando, East Coast, Gulf Coast, Keys, and several more area. To make our search for these vacation rentals easier, there are some websites that provide listings for these kinds of rentals, including the situation and pictures. However, if our main places of interest are Orlando’s amusement parks, then some Orlando vacation rentals near Disney area are the perfect choices. To treat our kids, some of these rentals even have Disney theme as the main interior theme.

It’s quite amazing. Let’s have a great vacation to Orlando, Florida, with our whole family.

Why traditional education is better than technology-based?

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

On-line education is in trend nowadays. In the future, students may have the opportunity to study at home with computers rather than go to traditional schools like what we are used to doing. Is this the better option?
People must prefer the traditional way because in a classroom setting, students can learn and socialize with their peers. Also, from the instructor, he or she can teach students many valuable lessons of life which cannot be learned through technology. It is like the question of doing research through the library or the internet. Both have advantages and disadvantages but traditional education has the numerous advantages over on-line education.
Students learn better socially and academically in a classroom. Students are mostly young-aged. Therefore, they are generally interested in meeting and being with their peers. As they interact, it makes it easier for them to pay focus and learn. As social creatures, one could not just stay secluded and educate his own self. Besides lecture materials, a classroom instructor teaches many other important life lessons. Students can learn and develop punctuality and good study habits. A teacher serves as a guide through education process which is a big part of life.
We must prefer to study at traditional schools and let us send our children there. It is because being around other people of our age or different ages gives us the opportunity to socialize and learn not only from the internet or books but from the society and from life. We could also learn other things which are important to education such as study skills. On-line education or any form of technology-based education is convenient. However, let us not risk quality. Long-term goals must always be prioritized.

What Notebooks for Home-Based Business?

Wednesday, August 6th, 2008

When we work at home, it means that there won’t be any IT supports to help us in case there are any problems with our computers. So, to make our work (and our life) easier, our computers need to have these basic criteria. Firstly, notebooks are better than PCs, especially if they are thin and light, since we might want to take it to meetings or any other business purposes. Secondly, although notebooks are preferred, if we can get ones with widescreen then it is better; believe me that it is hard for our eyes to work everyday with those small notebooks. Thirdly, the systems need to provide easy-to-use and easy-to-manage security, connectivity and other features critical to working in today’s networked world.

As far as I know, the model that fits those criteria is one from Lenovo Thinkpad. If we read the features and demo, they have several models that have perfect specification. Any other idea?
